Lexi is a dork. She knows it, and the rest of the world does too. She’s always been content to sit in the corner listening to her music and daydreaming or just chattering away with her only friend, Knucker Polk. She’s never really tried talking to anyone else. Lexi finds the world of girl politics intimidating and she’s never been interested in dating.

But lately, the idea of senior year is getting to her. Lexi is seventeen. This is her last year of high school. Next year, Knucker will leave for college and she’ll be working full time at her dad’s gas station, and nothing will be the same. Lexi wants to make sure this year becomes the most memorable year of their lives.

Starting with climbing the Silent Pines High social ladder.

Her grades are nothing to brag about. Lexi maintains a C average, with a B here and there if she’s trying to stay out of trouble. She just doesn’t pay attention in class or bother to study. School is boring. She does like her Music Theory class—and as long as her dad isn’t listening, she’ll admit that she enjoys Auto Shop too.

Knucker is her only friend, and that’s just fine by Lexi. In a world full of Margrits, it’s nice to hang out with someone who just gets you and doesn’t try to shove your face in a toilet.

Her father, Jacob Ryan, is the other big influence in her life. He’s a tough, no-bullshit sort of guy, but underneath all that gruff exterior Lexi knows he’s just trying to take care of her.

Lexi’s relationship with her mom, Abbie Thorn, is a different story. The woman skipped town when Lexi was still in diapers and rarely makes contact. There’s a lot of complicated feelings on Lexi’s part (not to mention her dad’s).
